With fuel discounts and team perks, Bunnings’ new PowerPass loyalty program is a no-brainer.

Want a business perk without doing the hard yards? The new Bunnings loyalty program, PowerPass Pro Rewards, supports your small business spending, rewarding you with Pro Rewards Dollars, fuel savings and team perks.

Launching this month, PowerPass Pro Rewards caters to small and medium trade businesses, replacing the discount model of PowerPass Classic (our original discount program) with a spend-and-earn model, tiered benefits and partner offers.

We break down everything you need to know about this new loyalty program and who’s eligible to jump onboard.

At a glance: What is PowerPass Pro Rewards?

  • Who’s it for? PowerPass Pro Rewards is a new loyalty program for commercial customers, including small-to-medium businesses, trades, owner builders and apprentices.
  • How does it work? It replaces the PowerPass Classic discount system with a simple spend-and-earn model that rewards members with Pro Reward Dollars and tiered benefits, plus the base benefits that PowerPass Classic members have always loved, on eligible purchases.
  • What are the membership tiers? There are six: Member, Essential, Plus, Elite, Ultimate and Black. Each tier unlocks greater benefits as a business increases its annual spend.
  • What benefits do I get? Depending on your tier, you will receive exclusive base and partner perks, which can include Shell fuel discounts, Qantas Business Rewards Points and Exclusive Tier Gifts.
  • How do I access PowerPass Pro Rewards? Join via the Bunnings Trade website, and within minutes you can access the benefits through the PowerPass App. The app gives users full control to access digital cards, track rewards, view tier progress and transactions.

Q: What is PowerPass Pro Rewards?

A: PowerPass Pro Rewards is a new loyalty program for commercial customers. Designed from customer feedback, it replaces the varying discount with a simple spend-and-earn model that rewards members with Pro Reward Dollars at a consistent rate and provides members with tiered benefits that grow with your annual spend. Plus, Pro Rewards members can still access the digital tools, PowerPass App, credit offers and partner benefits that PowerPass members have always loved.

Q: How many Pro Rewards Dollars can I earn?

A: Earn $100 Pro Rewards Dollars at $2,000 eligible annual spend, then $50 Pro Rewards Dollars for every $1,000 spend thereafter.

Q: What are the membership tiers and how do they work?

A: The program features six membership tiers based on your annual spend:

  • Member ($0-$1,999 annual spend)
  • Essential ($2,000-$9,999 annual spend)
  • Plus ($10,000-$24,999 annual spend)
  • Elite ($25,000-$49,999 annual spend)
  • Ultimate ($50,000-$99,999 annual spend)
  • Black ($100,000+ annual spend)

All eligible spend counts towards moving your tier status up (this will happen automatically when your annual spend reaches the tier spend threshold), unlocking new benefits. Your yearly spend will reset annually on the anniversary of your joining date.

Q: Is Bunnings PowerPass worth it?

A: Yes, if you hold an ABN/ACN and shop regularly as a commercial customer. Membership is free, making it a no-brainer. There are a range of benefits and offers you can lap up by using the new loyalty program, including:

  • Access to Shell fuel discounts ranging from 5 cents to 8 cents per litre for you and your team;
  • Exclusive Tier Gifts sent straight to your business address each time you tier up to Plus or higher;
  • Unlock Qantas Business Rewards Points^: Points are cumulative as you reach each tier:
  • Elite: 15,000 points;
  • Ultimate: 25,000 points;
  • Black: 85,000 points. Plus earn an additional 85,000 Qantas Points for every $100,000 spent thereafter on this tier.

Tip: Not a PowerPass member but want to reap the rewards? Jump onboard now.

Q: Can my team use my Pro Rewards account?

A: Yes. Linked card holders enjoy base benefits. The Primary Account Owner only can redeem Pro Reward Dollars and Qantas Points. Linked card holders still get to enjoy base membership benefits including:

  • Coffee run: $2 coffees at the Bunnings Cafe
  • Free kitchen quotes
  • Hire Shop offers
  • Member only benefits and savings at a range of businesses

Most importantly, card holders can access the Shell fuel discounts via the app (available on your personal Shell account too), which can save bucks for your business at the bowser. Plus, all spend linked to your account earns the Primary Account Owner progress to the next tier.

Q: Are there any catches? What doesn’t earn Pro Rewards Dollars?

A: There are a few exclusions you should know about. However, even if an item doesn’t earn Pro Rewards Dollars, many still count towards your Membership Tier progress.

For example, if you spend big on deliveries or Frame and Truss, those purchases won’t earn Pro Rewards Dollars. However, they will still contribute to your total spend for tier progress (meaning: you’ll continue moving towards higher tiers and unlocking greater fuel discounts and milestone rewards).

The following exclusions apply to the program:

  • Delivery charges
  • Installations
  • Frame and Truss products
  • Off-range products
  • Any sale where a discount is applied (excluding where we have price matched an item for you. This will still be eligible for earning Pro Rewards Dollars)
  • Deleted products

However, note that the following list won’t earn Pro Rewards or add to your Membership Tier progress:

  • Beaumont Tiles
  • Tool Kit Depot (TKD)
  • Gift cards
  • Marketplace purchases (selected third-party products)
  • Trade gas bottle deposits
  • Hire Shop deposits

Q: What are the account types available on PowerPass Pro Rewards?

A: There are three different account types currently on PowerPass Pro Rewards. They are:

Business & Trade Accounts: Registered businesses and trade professionals with a valid ABN/ACN. This account type provides the full Pro Rewards experience, designed to grow with your business.

Owner Builder Accounts: Building or renovating your own home? You’re covered. With a valid Owner Builder Permit, you can access PowerPass Pro Rewards for up to three years and earn rewards as you build.

Apprentice Accounts: Just starting out? You don’t need an ABN to get rewarded. Register with your apprentice registration number to unlock Pro Rewards benefits while you learn your trade.

Tip: Check out our website to find a breakdown of the benefits your account holds.

Q: Do I need a new card for my wallet?

A: No need for a new card, you can use the PowerPass app instantly to access your card. But, if you have a current card it will convert across.

Q: Why aren’t all business customers being converted over to PowerPass Pro Rewards at this stage?

A: Customers who aren’t yet eligible for the new offer will continue accessing PowerPass as they do today. This approach allows us to introduce changes carefully and make sure any future updates reflect the needs of different customer types. Customers will be contacted directly if anything changes for them.
