PowerPass Pro Rewards: How the fuel discount works

One of the biggest overheads is fuel spend, so taking advantage of petrol offers is a no-brainer.

• Business & Trade account PowerPass Pro Rewards members can earn five to eight cents per litre at participating Shell Card Lite outlets, depending on their membership tier
• Activate the offer in the PowerPass App to receive a barcode to scan at the outlet
• One barcode per 24 hours is available* per PowerPass Pro Rewards cardholder

How much is the fuel discount?

The amount that Business & Trade members get off their fuel depends on membership tier level. The Shell fuel discount ranges from five cents per litre for our Member tier, up to eight cents per litre for Black tier members. The fuel discount per litre for each tier is:

• Member: Five cents per litre
• Essential & Plus: Five cents per litre
• Elite & Ultimate: Seven cents per litre
• Black: Access to eight cents per litre (via the Shell Card credit application)

How does the PowerPass Pro Rewards discount work?

If you hold a Business & Trade PowerPass Pro Rewards account type, you are eligible for the Shell Card Lite fuel discount, which can be used at participating Shell outlets at the time of payment. The discount amount depends on what membership tier you’re in.

What are the PowerPass Pro Rewards membership tiers?

The new loyalty program works on a tier-based system. There are six tiers, each giving you access to business perks (including fuel savings, Pro Rewards Dollars and partner offers) based on your annual eligible spend. The tiers are:

• Member ($0-$1,999 annual spend)
• Essential ($2,000-$9,999 annual spend)
• Plus ($10,000-$24,999 annual spend)
• Elite ($25,000-$49,999 annual spend)
• Ultimate ($50,000-$99,999 annual spend)
• Black ($100,000+ annual spend)

All eligible spend counts towards moving your tier status up (this will happen automatically when your annual eligible spend reaches the tier spend threshold), unlocking new benefits. Your yearly spend will reset annually on the anniversary of your joining date.

How do I move up tiers in PowerPass Pro Rewards?

You move up the PowerPass Pro Rewards membership tier system according to purchases at Bunnings. The more you spend, the more you get. The loyalty program is designed to reward growth and consistency – recognition as your business grows.

How do I access the fuel discount?

The offer is only available in the PowerPass App. The steps to active the offer are:

• Activation is required: The primary account holder must complete the one-time activation of the Shell Card Lite offer within the “Benefits” section of the PowerPass App. Tap on the “Shell Fuel Offer”.
• Select “activate offer” and agree to Shell Card Lite’s terms and conditions. Your fuel discount barcode will then be available in the PowerPass App. You can receive one discount barcode every 24 hours.
• Share with the crew: Once the primary account holder activates the offer, the fuel discount becomes available to all linked card holders on the account and available in the PowerPass App.

Why can’t Owner Builder or Apprentice account members get the fuel discount?

Owner Builder and Apprentice PowerPass Pro Rewards account members aren’t eligible for the fuel offer as participants are required to have a valid ABN to join their Shell Card Lite business to business program.

Who is eligible for a PowerPass Pro Rewards membership?

Business & Trade, Owner Builder and Apprentice accounts are eligible to become PowerPass Pro Rewards members. Benefits vary across the accounts, like the fuel discount, for example.

Who is not eligible for a PowerPass Pro Rewards membership?

The following new and existing customers aren’t eligible to join PowerPass Pro Rewards – yet!

• Large enterprise
• Government
• Education
• Export
• Insurance
• Mining
• Franchise and umbrella group accounts
• Customers on price list or contract pricing
• Other account-managed customers

Why aren’t these organisations or businesses able to sign up?

We want to ensure all customer types are supported, which is why the above listed accounts can sign up or remain on our PowerPass Classic while PowerPass Pro Rewards scales up.

These customers will be invited to join the new loyalty program in a future phase, when additional features are available.

How many fuel discount barcodes can I get in a day?
You are eligible for one discount barcode in every 24-hour period.

How can I claim the discount?
Once you’ve activated the Shell Card Lite discount offer and received your barcode, you scan the barcode at participating Shell Card Lite outlets when paying.

How does the new PowerPass Pro Rewards membership work?
It works on a spend-and-get model that rewards members with Pro Rewards Dollars to spend on eligible purchases in-store. Depending on your tier, there are also exclusive base and partner perks, which includes Shell Card Lite discounts, Qantas Business Rewards Points and Bunnings Trade exclusive tier gifts when you level up at certain tiers.

How many Pro Rewards Dollars do I get?
Earn $100 Pro Rewards Dollars when you reach $2,000 eligible spend each year, then $50 Pro Rewards Dollars for every $1,000 on eligible purchases thereafter.**

If I am an existing PowerPass Classic member, how do I convert to PowerPass Pro Rewards?
PowerPass Pro Rewards is specifically tailored for small to medium businesses, trades, owner builders and apprentices. If you fall into those categories, you can easily log into the Bunnings Trade website and click the “Convert to Pro Rewards” prompt or visit the PowerPass Pro Rewards landing page.
