You know what they say: time is money, and you need every quick trip to Bunnings to be just that – quick. You just want to get in, get what you need and go, which is why there are some features on the Bunnings Trade PowerPass app designed to help speed things up. Here are five things to do before, during and after your visit in store that will have you back on the tool's quick sticks.
Before you go in, having your PowerPass app registered and set up with your preferred payment method is going to save you a lot of time in the long run – and it’s a job you only need to do once. You can use your PowerPass credit or 30 Day account, or link to your credit or debit card, PayPal, Zip Pay or Apple Pay. To get started, watch how to register your account. Once you’ve done this, trips to Bunnings become scan-and-go visits – there’s no need for a physical card or waiting at the register.
A faster trip to Bunnings starts with planning – but when you’re running multiple jobs, that can easily spin out into lots and lots of lists. Make it simple by keeping all the lists on your Bunnings PowerPass app – just create a new job list for each job you have running.
“Start by searching for a product on the app,” Josh Peppiat, Senior Product Developer at Bunnings, says. “Then click the ‘Add to List’ icon to the right of the ‘Add to Cart’ button. Create a new list and add the product to it. You can add as many products as you like.” Then when you’re in store, pull up your list in the app to quickly see where each product is in store.
Take the time out of finding what you need by using the interactive map feature in the app. “It really solves the most common question Bunnings team members get asked in stores, which is where to find products,” Josh says. “Once you’ve searched for a product in the app, you can view the aisle location of the product specific to the store you’re in. Just click ‘View on Map’ and the app will highlight the exact bay the item is in.” To make it even faster, click on ‘Show path’ to give the faster route to that bay.
This is the real game changer when using the app – you can scan the barcodes of the products as you go, meaning you’re ringing up your order on the fly. As an added plus, you get to see your exclusive PowerPass price for the goods when you scan the product. Now here’s where setting up your payment method (step 1) comes into play – your details are in the app so you can just skip the registers altogether and check out with your phone. Show the team member at the door your QR code as you leave and you're back on the road faster than most.
Okay, this one isn’t technically a way to save time in store, but it will save you valuable minutes – if not hours – after you’ve left. All your eReceipts are stored in the app, which means you can quickly tally up costs for jobs, flick them on to your bookkeeper or have them ready for tax time. No more rummaging in the glove box!
A PowerPass account is for eligible tradies with a valid ABN or ACN. You can also apply if you are an owner builder or an apprentice. It’s free to apply.
