Meath Care has built a new 130-bed residential retirement village owned and managed by Meath Care. The village boasts a brand new 2-storey clubhouse which was opened in June 2018.
Cooper & Oxley’s contract was for the demolition of existing facilities followed by the construction of the new villas.
Bunnings Trade successfully tendered for the manufacture and supply of doors to the project including custom designed front doors for each villa. Bunnings collaborated with Corinthian to manufacture the doors to the architect’s specifications and coordinated the other two suppliers required to deliver a satisfactory outcome to the builder.
"The 130 front doors were specified for supply from America with an Acrovyn finish which is a very hard wearing laminate applied to doors and walls to protect them in heavy traffic areas such as hospitals and aged care facilities.
Sourcing the doors from America was not practical so we called on Bunnings and Corinthian to help us meet the specification using a local supply chain.
Corinthian manufacture the solid core doors to meet the specification, once manufactured they are pressed and trimmed. They are then machined to suit the entry door pattern on a CNC Router and the Acrovyn sheet that has been vacuum formed on an MDF tool is installed including capping.
Bunnings have been great helping to coordinate the supply of these doors. I’ve been able to leave Bunnings with the problem of coordinating the number of suppliers involved and know that they will update me when necessary, at least every 2 weeks through the process.
