No. EV chargers are a hard-wired electrical appliance and need to be installed by a licensed electrician for both safety reasons and to activate the manufacturer’s product warranty.
EV chargers can be purchased in selected stores, or online anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
The Type 2 plug is the industry standard, but some early EVs had Type 1 or Type 3 plugs. Bunnings stocks adapters to suit these older model EV cars.

Type 2: This is the current industry standard

Tesla vehicles require a charging cable with a Type 2 plug. See our full range of EV charging cables.
It will depend on the charging capacity of the charger and your car.
The cost to charge your vehicle will vary based on your circumstances, and depends on a number of factors such as your energy cost or whether you have access to free solar energy in your home, the time of day (if connected to the grid) and how much energy your EV requires.
You’ll need an EV charging cable to connect your car to a charging station or a 240v outlet. A number of service stations now offer EV fast charging or anywhere an EV charger is available. For more information, check out our guide: ‘How to charge your electric vehicle when you’re away from home’.

Tesla’s Mobile Connector allows you to charge your Tesla vehicle directly from a standard household power outlet.

Mobile Connector is compatible with Australian adapters and is lightweight and easy to transport. Every Mobile Connector comes with a 6-metre cable to help maximise flexibility in parking locations.
