Black sandbags stacked outside in the rain
Shifting sandbags can be hard and time-consuming work. Andre, the Managing Director of Gumleaf Gutterguard, explains what Miracle Sandbags are and how they can revolutionise how you use sandbags at work or in an emergency.

What is a Miracle Sandbag?

A Miracle Sandbag is a ready-to-use sandbag that doesn’t require filling. The bags self-inflate when they come into contact with water so they just need to be put in place and they’re ready to go.

They absorb up to 18 kilograms of water in just four to six minutes. Before the bags expand, they each measure 60cm x 40cm x 0.5cm and weigh 0.25kg each. After being exposed to water, they swell to 60cm x 40cm x 15cm and weigh 18kg.

Multi-use sandbagging

Miracle Sandbags can be used for all types of traditional sandbagging jobs. They can be quickly put in place to prepare for a large flood or they can even be used to quickly reinforce river banks.

On the jobsite, Miracle Sandbags are a great way to contain any kind of spill or as protection from a burst water pipe. Builders can also use them to protect drains on a building site or even protect sensitive areas from water damage.

More efficient than sandbagging

When time is crucial, moving large amounts of sand might take too long. However, just 600kg of Miracle Sandbags provides you with the same protection that two truckloads of sand would do when they have inflated. You won’t even need a shovel to get the bags in position.

Easy storage and disposal

An added benefit of Miracle Sandbags is that they are reusable and long lasting. Then they can be stacked easily and neatly away in storage for future use.

Miracle Sandbags are also biodegradable so they won’t harm the environment and are safe to dispose of when no longer needed. Simply use a safety knife to cut them open and throw away the contents.
