What is carbide?

Carbide typically refers to a compound made up of carbon and metal. Kango’s engineers have determined the optimal carbide grade, using the best welding techniques and manufacturing processes to create high performance carbide accessories for the most demanding applications.

Why use carbide?

Carbide is incredibly strong. It’s much stronger and more rigid than steel, making it ideal for creating fast, clean cuts in extreme applications. Carbide products have a long product life and they can be used on a wide range of materials.

How is it applied?

Kango’s engineers have welded carbide into the teeth of the Hole Shot Carbide Teeth Hole Saws for greater adhesion and teeth that stay sharper for longer. These hole saws are tough enough to cut into nearly all of the tough materials you come across onsite – for example, stainless steel, cement sheet and black pipe/cast iron pipe. In addition, they make easy work of wood and plasterboard cutting applications.

Anti-friction coating

Nobody likes the smell of burning timber on site caused by the friction build-up of a hole saw. Kango Hole Shot Hole Saws use an anti-friction coating that results in faster, more efficient cutting, reduced gumming and sticking, less heat and minimal corrosion.
