Rottnest Island is a Class A Reserve located 18 kilometres off the coast of West Australia. It is rich in history and is now a resort of 290 self-contained villas, units and cottages that receives over 500,000 visitors a year.
Programmed Facility Management has been contracted by the Rottnest Island Authority to manage and maintain all of the buildings on the island since 2006.
Bunnings Trade has been supplying Programmed Facility Management with all materials associated with the restoration and renovation of the apartments and houses.
“Bunnings has helped us source materials in many ways. A lot of materials and products are normally stocked by Bunnings but in some cases they have sourced materials especially for us. They worked with us on many products looking at alternatives and deciding on the most cost effective and suitable product.
There are logistics challenges with this project because we are on an island. A barge is used to freight all the materials onto the island every day, weather permitting. Bunnings delivers full palates wrapped and strapped and each is labelled with a purchase order which makes my job easier when I accept delivery on the island.
